Plan A: Saturday train at 8.00 to Greenport, arriving at 10.15 after one connection. Walk by the harbour, then stay overnight. Return journey on Sunday at 17.00, arriving home at 19.15. Travel and shared accommodation cost £92 per person. Breakfast is included; lunch and dinner are not. The longer stay leaves Sunday morning free for photographs.
Plan B: Saturday coach at 9.00 to Millhaven, arriving at 10.30 without a connection. Visit the riverside exhibition and take a short walk. Return at 18.00, arriving home at 19.30. Travel and exhibition entry cost £38 per person. Meals are not included, and there is no overnight stay.
Jo starts work at 18.00 on Sunday and cannot miss the shift. Alex has set a total budget of £60, including meals. Sam would prefer a slow weekend by the sea but is willing to make a day trip this time. They estimate £15 each for food on Plan B. They have not booked either option. Alex notes that a preferred destination and a possible schedule are different things; the decision needs to respect both money and Jo's shift.
